Even until the very end, Spike and Buffy’s relationship revolves around denial. She loves him, finally. He can’t accept that she does. She watches him burn, holding his hand, and a look of calm; acceptance, comes over his face and hers. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. And you wonder why this is my OTP.
