All of it. Obviously in this scene of Season 7 Buffy discovers that Spike’s leave of absence to Africa was to get a soul, to make up for the wrongs he’d done. The mix of emotions in Buffy’s reaction is just heartbreaking, and to hear Spike’s nonsensical words in his shaky voice makes the scene even harder to watch. The point is, though that Spike retrieved his soul for Buffy. To become a better man, for her.
